Lobbying world

• Mike House has left Hogan Lovells, where he founded the government relations practice, to launch Oak Grove Strategies. House founded the Hogan Lovells practice in 1991 and led it until 2019. Before that, he worked at the law firm now known as Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. He previously worked as a legislative clerk to the Republican staff on the Senate Banking Committee and a legislative assistant to former Rep. James Collins (R-Texas).

• International Paper announced that Mary M. Mann, senior director of government relations, is retiring from her day-to-day responsibilities after 23 years with the company. She will be replaced in early May by Kaitlin Sighinolfi, director of tax and trade at Siemens Corp. Sighinolfi previously worked as legislative director and senior trade policy adviser to former Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.) and legislative assistant for ex-Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine).

• Invariant hired Tim Martin as a lobbyist. Martin was a public policy attorney at WilmerHale for more than three years after working as legislative director for Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) for two years. He also served as general counsel and senior legislative assistant for Rep. Scott Tipton (D-Colo.) for nearly a year.

• Tom Carpenter has left his role as senior partner at Republic Consulting LLC to be director of public affairs and marketing at the new trade group Financial Data Exchange, which promotes a global standard for financial data sharing. Carpenter previously was senior vice president and managing director at the now-defunct lobbying firm Wexler | Walker. Before that he was a legislative assistant to former Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.).
