Kelly Ann Shaw, former deputy assistant for international economic affairs and deputy director of the National Economic Council, is joining Hogan Lovells as a partner. Prior to the White House, Shaw worked in the office of the U.S. Trade Representative and for the House Ways and Means Committee.

 

American Petroleum Institute President Mike Sommers announced on Tuesday that the association is moving to regional teams and away from a state-by-state advocacy structure. Some state offices will close and the regional teams will be based in Denver; Springfield, Ill.; St. Paul, Minn.; Columbus, Ohio; Harrisburg, Pa.; Boston; Raleigh, N.C.; and Tallahassee, Fla. Sommers expects the teams to be fully operational by late fall.

 

Jed Dearborn, former senior counsel for the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, is now a senior vice president at Cassidy & Associates. Dearborn previously was energy counsel for Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.)

 

Mark Gorman was named executive vice president and chief operating officer at the National Association of Cannabis Businesses. Gorman previously was senior vice president for government relations at the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, a post he held for 20 years.

 

Bully Pulpit Interactive, a communications agency, named Robert Gibbs senior counsel based in the Chicago office. Gibbs was press secretary for President Obama and most recently was global chief communications officer for McDonald’s, a post he left in October.

 

Seven Letter, a communications and public affairs firm, named Morgan Dye senior director. She previously was a director at Reingold, Inc. Also, Colleen Charles, previously assistant to the field director for the Iowa Democratic Party, was named manager of operations.
