Joel Elliott, former chief of staff to Rep. Abby Finkenauer (D-Iowa), is now the director of federal affairs at Salesforce. He was chief of staff to ex-Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.). After Donnelly lost his reelection, Elliott founded Consulting for a Common Good before his stint in Finkenauer’s office.

 

Clark Hill launched an integrated cyber and defense practice called ASSET360. The firm aims to help clients on issues including cybersecurity and data privacy, information governance, reputation and crisis management, as well as white collar crime and government investigations.

 

The International Trademark Association announced Jennifer McDowell as the director of government relations in its Washington office. McDowell was assistant general counsel at the Office of the General Counsel at the Office of the United States Trade Representative.{mosads}

 

Michael Best Strategies added Becky Miller Updike to the firm as a principal. Miller Updike will focus on the Colorado Association of Family & Children’s Agencies and will be based in Colorado. She previously was executive director of Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, vice president of Child & Family Services for Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains, and was Colorado’s first child protection ombudsman, a state office that monitors the child welfare system.

 

MetLife, Inc. named Maggie Gage vice president of U.S. government relations. She was previously head of public policy for the Americas at Credit Suisse. Before that, she was the director of federal relations at the Normandy Group and a legislative assistant on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
