Martina Bradford, a former deputy Senate Sergeant at Arms and aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), has gone to the influence industry.
Bradford has joined the Bockorny Group as a principal.
“Martina brings unparalleled experience and relationships with Congressional Democrats, strengthening the already strong bipartisan relationships of the Bockorny Group,” said David Bockorny, chairman and CEO of the firm, in a statement. “I have known Martina for many years and am confident that she will significantly enhance our brand.”
Bradford was appointed by Reid to serve as the deputy Sergeant at Arms in 2011 for the upper chamber after working six years as a senior adviser to the Senate leader. For Reid, Bradford headed up the Senate Democratic Diversity Initiative and earlier was a senior adviser for human resources where she worked to recruit and retain minority staff in Senate Democratic offices.
Bradford is a Washington veteran, having been a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld, high up in corporate offices for AT&T and Lucent Technologies and a staffer for congressional committees in both the House and Senate.
David Bockorny “is first rate in terms of his integrity and ability, and I am excited to work alongside him once again in this new chapter of my career,” Bradford said in a statement.
The Bockorny Group is a well-established lobby shop, having earned more than $6.4 million in lobbying fees for 2012, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The firm lobbied for some big corporate names last year, such as Amazon, GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis.
