CORONAVIRUS RELIEF. The Small Business Investor Alliance hired Cypress Advocacy LLC to work on financial services and issues related to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Brant Imperatore, former chief counsel for Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee, and Chris Brown, former senior professional staff for the GOP on the same committee will be among those working on the account.

The National Parking Association hired Arent Fox LLP to work on the CARES Act regarding financial relief for parking lot and garage companies and their employees. Former Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.), former Rep. Phil English (R-Pa.) and Dan Renberg, former member of the board of directors of the Export-Import Bank, will work on the account.

Silver Diner, based in Rockville, Md., also hired Arent Fox to work on the CARES Act for restaurant industry financing. Dorgan and Renberg will be among those working on the account.

Illinois-based manufacturer Seven W and Affiliates hired Husch Blackwell Strategies LLC to work on issues related to small business loans and the CARES Act. Russ Orban, former general counsel for Democrats on the House Small Business Committee, and Eric Lausten, former chief of staff to Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.), will work on the account.

Aviation services provider Swissport USA Inc. hired Holland & Knight LLP to work on aviation contractor–related issues associated with the CARES Act. Christopher Armstrong, former investigative counsel for Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee, and Lisa Barkovic, former legislative assistant to ex-Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.), will work on the account.

Barnes and Noble Education, which works with the education industry and has ties to the bookseller, hired Baker & Hostetler LLP to work on policy issues relating to higher education and the CARES Act. Kevin Edgar, former chief counsel on the House Financial Services Committee while Democrats controlled the panel, and Greg Orlando, former counsel for Republicans on the Senate Commerce Committee, among others, will work on the account.

Endurance International Group hired Avenue Strategies to work on government activities to stimulate the small business economy following the coronavirus pandemic. Barry Bennett, former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio), will work on the account.
