TRADE. Shinola/Detroit LLC, a manufacturing company based in Detroit, hired Economic Policy Strategies to work on tariff issues. Jeffrey Ziarko, former senior economic policy adviser to ex-Rep. Sander Levin (D-Mich.), will work on the account.

 

HEALTH CARE. Sheppard Pratt Health System, a psychiatric hospital in Baltimore, hired Clark Hill to work on reimbursement issues and research funding. Kevin Kelly, former chief counsel to the secretary of the Senate Democratic Conference, and Jasper Thomson, former legislative assistant to ex-Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.), among others, will work on the account.

 

Apple Homecare Medical Supply Inc., a medical equipment supply company in Texas, also hired Clark Hill to work on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues and other health care matters. Former Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas) as well as Kelly, Thomson and others will work on the account.

 

FINANCIAL SERVICES. Fair Isaac Corp. (FICO), a company that works on predictive analytics and data science to improve operational decisions, hired The Cypress Group to work on issues related to credit scores and implementation of the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act. Brant Imperatore, former senior counsel on the House Financial Services Committee, and Chris Brown, former senior professional staff on the House Financial Services Committee, will work on the account.

 

TECHNOLOGY. Gallant Technologies, which produces canine training tools, hired Fierce Government Relations to work on issues related to explosive detection technology. Kirk Blalock, former special assistant to former President George W. Bush, and Kirsten Chadwick, former special assistant to Bush on legislative affairs, among others, will work on the account.
