• AGRICULTURE. The Gibson Group has been hired by the International Dairy Foods Association to lobby on “competition in the dairy industry. Dairy Title of S.10 – Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2013,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Joseph Gibson, once chief minority counsel to the House Judiciary Committee, is lobbying for the trade group. 

• EDUCATION. Downey McGrath Group has been hired by The Association of Proprietary Colleges to lobby on “all legislative and executive actions related to federal higher education policy and budgeting,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Rep. Thomas Downey (D-N.Y.) and Deborah Nussbaum, once a legislative aide to ex-Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), are lobbying for the trade group.

Capitol Tax Partners has been hired by the National Restaurant Association to lobby on “legislative and regulatory services related tax reform,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Patrick Heck, former chief Democratic tax counsel for the Senate Finance Committee, and Lawrence Willcox, once staff director for the Senate Republican Policy Committee, are lobbying for the trade group. 

 • TECHNOLOGY. Cove Strategies has been hired by the Motion Picture Association of America to lobby on “issues relating to copyright law,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Matthew Schlapp, former political director for the George W. Bush White House, and Stephen Replogle, once a senior policy adviser to the Senate Republican Conference, are lobbying for the trade group. 

 Garrett McNatt Hennessey & Carpenter 360 has been hired by Google to lobby on “all provisions related to technology issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Mitch Hunter, once chief of staff for Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.), is lobbying for the company. 

 • TELECOMMUNICATIONS. TwinLogic Strategies has been hired by Motorola Mobility to lobby on “telecommunications, cybersecurity, consumer, trade and intellectual property issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Elizabeth Frazee, once legislative counsel to Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), and Sharon Ringley, former deputy chief of staff to ex-Rep. Rick Boucher (D-Va.), are lobbying for the company.
