TRADE. Security People Inc., a California-based manufacturer of electronic locks, hired Miller & Chevalier to work on seeking support from Congress over the company’s tariff exclusion requests on electronic locks. Jorge Castro, former tax and trade counsel to ex-Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-Ohio), will work on the account.

 

APPROPRIATIONS. The Mackinac Technology Company, a building materials company, hired Hogan Lovells to work on appropriations issues. Kolo Rathburn, former legislative affairs director at the Commerce Department, will work on the account.

 

EDUCATION. The National Aviation Academy in Florida hired Capitol Resources to work on education issues. John Lundy, former chief of staff to ex-Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.); Ty Mabry, former deputy legislative director to ex-Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.); and Susan Butler, former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Chip Pickering (R-Miss.), will work on the account.

 

FCS Foundation, which provides education and support for those affected by Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome, hired Connect 4 Strategies to work on general education and awareness issues. Saira Sultan Chirico, former chief counsel on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions subcommittee on employment, will work on the account.

 

JUSTICE. RJI Capital Corporation, which provides investment information and strategic advice to clients, hired Hutton-Transcon Joint Venture to advocate for issues of importance to the Government of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Justice. Michael Hutton, former chief of staff to then-Rep. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), will work on the account.
