Matt Drudge, the founder of the conservative news aggregation site Drudge Report, on Thursday shared the New York Post’s Friday print edition that features Trump Cabinet officials as if they are competing in a season of “Survivor.”
The New York Post tweeted an early release of the cover on Thursday night following the latest resignation of a top Trump official, saying “EPA chief Scott Pruitt is out — and we’re back for Season 2 of Survivor White House.”
“Hot summer viewing!” Drudge tweeted along with the cover that implies additional officials could be on their way out, including White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The tweet came hours after President Trump announced that Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt resigned.
Pruitt resigned amid a series of damaging scandals over his ethics, management and spending.
{mosads}The Post, Trump’s hometown newspaper, has consistently used “Survivor” to mock Trump throughout his time as president. The newspaper first published a cover depicting Trump’s White House as “Survivor” in July 2017 that featured the faces of his top advisers and officials.
The paper mocked the Trump administration again in March after the White House announced that the president would replace Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. The Post covered Tillerson’s face with a red “X,” in addition to the faces of former chief strategist Stephen Bannon, former chief of staff Reince Priebus and former communications director Anthony Scaramucci.
“Another one bites the dust,” the paper tweeted.
