• Squire Patton Boggs hired Pablo Carrillo as of counsel in the firm’s public policy practice. He has been serving as chief of staff to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). Before that, he worked as GOP general counsel of Senate Armed Services Committee, of which McCain serves as chairman. Carrillo has also worked as chief investigative counsel to the Senate Commerce Committee.
• Sabrina Siddiqui has joined lobbying and public affairs firm Forbes Tate Partners and will help lead the public affairs consulting team. She has previously worked as a spokeswoman for the Treasury Department in the Obama administration. She has also been on Capitol Hill and in campaigns, working in the communications offices of Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), Rep. David Loebsack (D-Iowa) and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
{mosads}• The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is bringing on Sara Armstrong to serve as vice president of political affairs and federation relations. She most recently served as chief of staff to the Republican National Committee but also worked as vice president of the Republican National Convention during the 2016 presidential elections and has held roles at the organization since 2009. Armstrong also has White House experience, serving as special assistant to former President George W. Bush and deputy chief of staff to first lady Laura Bush.
• Bess McWherter has departed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for PepsiCo, where she will serve as a government affairs coordinator.
• National Beer Wholesalers Association has named Eric Bunning as the director of federal affairs. He most recently worked as a senior legislative assistant for Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.).
• Christopher Jones is leaving Capitol Hill for the National Grocers Association. Jones most recently worked as legislative director and counsel for Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.). At the trade group for the supermarket industry, he will be serving as a vice president and counsel in its government relations department. Jones will handle several issues, including regulatory reform and agriculture policy.
