Iran tests space-launch vehicle
Iran has successfully tested a space launch vehicle capable of sending satellites into space, Reuters reports.
Iranian state television said the Simorgh (Phoenix) rocket can “place a satellite weighing up to 250 kg (550 pounds) to an orbit of 500 km (311 miles).”
{mosads}The 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and several world powers allows the nation to carry out such tests, but the U.S. has previously criticized the Islamic Republic for its Uranium enrichment program, saying it violates the agreement.
Similar tests have concerned the U.S. and its allies that the technology could also be used to create long-range missiles.
