13 students hospitalized after Miami-Boston flight
Thirteen students were hospitalized in Boston on Sunday after becoming ill on an American Airlines flight from Miami, according to CBS Boston.
The students, part of a group of about 40 people, began reporting stomach virus symptoms on a connecting flight, according to the news outlet. No other passengers or crew reported symptoms.
{mosads}The flight arrived at Logan Airport shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday morning and the students reporting symptoms were transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, according to CBS. Five had been released in good condition by 3 p.m., according to the hospital.
All of the students’ symptoms were “minor in nature,” according to Boston Emergency Medical Services.
This morning at approximately 9:20am, Boston EMS responded to Logan Airport with multiple units. A total of 13 patients were transported to MGH, all for symptoms that were minor in nature.
