Corzine tweets some love for Newark Mayor Booker

Gov. Jon Corzine (D-N.J.) took to Twitter himself on Monday to praise Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker (D). Corzine’s campaign named Booker an honorary co-chairman today.

The incumbent governor, who faces former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie (R-N.J.) in the fall, seldom tweets himself but has an active Twitter account that his staff typically operates.

Corzine tweeted today:

Very pleased @CoryBooker is on our team. 2gether we’ll keep driving crime dwn, emplymnt up & closng urbn/suburbn school achievement gap -Jon

Mayor @CoryBooker‘s doing a great job, and I’m proud that he’s on my leadership team – Jon

Booker has appeared on the campaign trail with Corzine before. The governor signs his tweets using his name to indicate that he personally tweeted a message.
