Thune tweets private event with McCain endorsing country music star

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) and his supporters are preparing for a big party with a country music star and he wants the Twitterverse to know about it.

The first-term senator tweeted Wednesday:

Reminder: Country music star John Rich will host a private performance for my campaign supporters at 5:00 PM. http://johnthune.com/rsvp.

Apparently, anybody can RSVP to attend at the linked website. The event will happen tonight in Sioux Falls, S.D. Thune is running for reelection in 2010.

John Rich was a member of the duo “Big and Rich” earlier this decade and has since launched a solo career. Rich appeared at events for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) 2008 presidential campaign. He recorded a song for the campaign, entitled “Raisin’ McCain.”
