Reid: Sotomayor confirmation a ‘testament’ to American dream

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) praised Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the Supreme court on Thursday as a “testament to the American dream.”

Reid commended Sotomayor’s accomplishment, tweeting:

The confirmation of Judge Sotomayor to the Supreme Court is a testament to the American dream. http://bit.ly/V37xu

“America is a great land where those who work hard, play by the rules and believe in our country’s greatness can soar to the highest heights, and Sonia Sotomayor is a great testament to that idea,” Reid said in the linked press release.

“I am particularly humbled to be a witness to history today as we confirm our first Latina Supreme Court Justice,” he added.
