Fleming tweets details of GOP alternative health bill
Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) is tweeting details of the Republicans’ alternative healthcare reform legislation.
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said last week that the GOP would introduce their own plan after Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) commented that the Republicans need not submit a bill themselves.
Fleming, who is a freshman, tweeted Thursday:
is proud to be an original co-sponsor of the Empowering Patients First Act.
This bill contains all the essential elements of good healthcare reform including expanding private insurance to all Americans who want it.
removes pre-existing illnesses, portability, subsidies to the working poor, access to excellent primary and specialty care and lawsuit reform
All of this is accomplished without a government takeover, gutting Medicare, long lines.
and most of all no bureaucrats interfering in the sacred doctor-patient relationship and it is budget neutral.
As Republicans prepare to introduce their bill in the House, markup on the Democratic bill continues in the Energy and Commerce Committee this morning.
