Rick Warren now on Twitter

Rick Warren, an evangelical minister who delivered the invocation at President Barack Obama’s inauguration, started his own Twitter account yesterday.

So far, he has tweeted four times:

2 tweet or not 2 tweet? I fear the narcissistic possibility, but can’t pass up any tool to encourage you! Jumping in! .

5:30am Quiet time in backyard watching sun rise over Saddleback Mt. 1 bird chirping. The Lord is my strength. Enter the day with reverence.

You cannot win your enemies to Christ. You can only win your friends. Treat everyone with love, respect, and dignity.

If you don’t know your identity, you will try to find it in someone or something else, and other people will try to determine it for you.

Liberal groups and congressmen criticized then-President-elect Obama’s decision to have Warren give the invocation, citing his opposition to gay marriage and his conservative views on faith.

Last year, Warren hosted Republican presidential nominee John McCain and Obama at the Saddleback Civil Forum on Presidency, where both candidates spoke about their views on faith.

The evangelical minister founded and is head of the Saddleback Church in Orange County, California, one of the largest churches in the country.

Warren already has 6,280 followers.
