Ros-Lehtinen: naturalization a ‘joyous day’
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) attended an naturalization ceremony today and reflected on her own emigrant experience on Twitter.
She tweeted:
At naturalization ceremony in Hialeah where 150 new citizens will be sworn in. I remember when I was one of them. Joyous day. July 4th theme
The Florida Republican emigrated from Cuba to South Florida with her family, and now represents Florida’s 18th district. Ros-Lehtinen is a very outspoken opponent of Castro’s regime in Cuba.
