A respite from the heat (?) for the W.H. press

The White House just announced that it is moving the 12:30 news conference from the rose garden to the briefing room.

This is welcome news to CBS’s Mark Knoller, who tweeted.

Not as pretty, but the Briefing Room is air conditioned and it means reporters won’t have to sit in the hot sun for over an hr.

And Knoller also reports that the move was because of the weather.

WH Aides say they moved the news conference inside because they felt it would be way too hot in the Rose Garden. Sunny – mid 80s.

Of course, by moving the presser, the White House also limited how many reporters can be there.

Also, have these people been outside? This is the best weather we’ve had in quite a while…
