McCain laments a bygone era of baseball
Yesterday, the nation found out that Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz used performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) in 2003. Ortiz was an instrumental player on the Sox’s 2004 and 2007 World Series squads. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) used the occasion to lament a bygone era of baseball without PEDs.
He channeled Simon and Garfunkel’s famous line, tweeting:
David Ortiz tested positive for steroids, “where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?”
