Gov. Jon Corzine (D-N.J.) took to Twitter on Thursday to attack his opponent Chris Christie (R) for being “a man who will adopt any pose for the sake of attaining power.”
The incumbent governor quoted a Newark Star-Ledger op-ed that leveled the charge. Corzine’s negative tack on Twitter may suggest that he is seeking to quickly make up ground against Christie, who leads in the polls.
Corzine tweeted:
Paul Mulshine: Christie “is a man who will adopt any pose for the sake of attaining power.” http://bit.ly/kaHzN
Mulshine’s op-ed reads:
If I’ve been throwing a lot of bolts at Christie, it’s because he deserves them. Corzine, for all his flaws, is at least what he pretends to be, a liberal who will tell you openly that he desires to move New Jersey to the left. Christie, on the other hand, has revealed himself to be devoid of any political beliefs whatsoever. He is a man who will adopt any pose for the sake of attaining power.
Christie recently gained a 15 point advantage polling advantage over Corzine.
