Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) appeared unhappy with the healthcare compromise Blue Dogs reached with House Democratic leaders.
He tweeted:
Like I said on Hannity last night – Blue Dogs always bark but never bite.
The Arizona Republican seems to have interpreted the compromise as the Blue Dogs backing down from their demands on healthcare reform legislation.
This isn’t the first time a Senate Republican used a dog metaphor to describe the group of centrist Democrats. Last week Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) encouraged them to “keep barkin” at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on the health bill.
