Gignrich backs Obama on education reform

Newt Gingrich tweeted some support today for President Barack Obama’s education agenda on the same day the president laid out key elements of his agenda.

The former House speaker tweeted:

President Obama’s strong commitment on education reform is a good start and he is showing considerable courage indemanding real change

Obama spoke today about his plans for education reform today at the Department of Education. The agency’s secretary, Arne Duncan, was also in attendance.

In the past, Obama has been critical of teachers’ unions for being opposed to reforms he favors, such as merit pay.
