Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) used Twitter this morning to promote his appearance at a netroots convention this weekend.
After switching parties in April, Specter has made gestures to the liberal base, first penning an op-ed on the Huffington Post and now attending a netroots conference.
Specter tweeted:
Is looking forward to meeting with Netroots Nation on Friday, August 14th at their conference in Pittsburgh.
The five-term senator faces a tough battle to keep his seat. Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) is posing a stiff primary challenge to Specter, raising $1 million in the second quarter and claiming that he is the only “true Democrat” in the primary.
