London Mayor takes a shot at Couric over Twitter?

London Mayor Boris Johnson, whose city is playing host to the G-20 summit in London, took to Twitter to send a message to CBS anchor Katie Couric, who is abroad covering the trip.

Johnson, known for his occasional outlandish remarks, had seen that Couric had been speaking about him, and responded in kind.

He tweeted:

Just seen that Katie Couric has described me as a blonde Beatle – hope its a compliment? Her Sarah Palin impression is awesome!

The confusing swipe may reference Couric’s interviews with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) during the 2008 presidential election, during which the Republican vice presidential nominee made several key missteps.
