Palin: Stimulus ‘can be seen as bribe’
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said this morning that federal stimulus money given to states “can be seen as bribe.”
By commenting on national issues such as the stimulus, the soon-to-be ex-governor continues to demonstrate that she will be active in national politics.
Palin, who is slated to leave office on Sunday after resigning earlier this month, tweeted:
CO Campbell spot-on in confirm hearing yest re:Stimulus Pkg; doesn’t want Feds “bribing (AK) towards a program”& Stim $ can be seen as bribe
The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee called on comments made by Craig Campbell, who has been nominated to be Alaska’s next lieutenant governor.
Campbell told the Alaska House Judiciary Committee that he doesn’t want the state “subjected to things like the stimulus money that could be considered bribes.
The current lieutenant governor, Sean Parnell, will assume the duties of governor when Palin steps down. Campbell has been nominated to serve as “acting” lieutenant governor, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
