DeMint defiant about Obama’s use of ‘Waterloo’ comment

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) blasted President Barack Obama for using comments DeMint made suggesting that healthcare reform would be the president’s “Waterloo.”

The South Carolinian tweeted in response to ABC’s Jake Tapper:

so @JimDeMint what did u think about POTUS citing your “Waterloo” comments as illustrative of the DC partisanship problem?

@jaketapper – The President attacks me and even Democrat critics of his healthcare takeover because his plan can’t pass on the merits.

On Monday, Obama criticized DeMint’s remarks at a news conference. He said “this isn’t about me…this isn’t about politics.”

DeMint had said that “If we’re able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.”
