Biden makes surprise visit to Iraq
Vice President Joe Biden has touched down in Baghdad on an unannounced visit to Iraq today. ABC News’ Chief Washington Correspondent George Stephanopoulos broke the news over Twitter:
Just landed in Baghdad w VP Biden. First time for me. “This is the moment” Biden told us before landing Exclusive interview on Sunday
Biden’s son Beau currently serves in Iraq. The younger Biden serves in the Delaware Army National Guard and is the state Attorney General. The Vice President also visited Iraq in January before he was inaugurated.
