It’s the final countdown
Several politicians are working to gin up a few more donations as their deadlines for the latest campaign finance filings draw near.
The candidates have taken to Twitter to build their war chests before the second quarter filing deadline nears at midnight.
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (D), who is running for governor of that state, tweeted:
Reporting deadline in 13 hours. We r $2,459 short of $1 million raised online. Can you give $10? Click http://tiny.cc/qnKgO
Meanwhile, incumbent Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) tweeted:
Raising $ online before midnight deadline tonight. Need your help!! Go to http://www.RickPerry.org and join the cause.
