Kent resigns, ending impeachment trial
Don Stewart, Spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), has reported that convicted U.S. District Judge Samuel B. Kent has resigned, bringing an abrupt end to his impeachment trial.
So much for the impeachment trial. Rather than go through the process, Judge Kent resigned.
Reid/McConnell: After being served with a summons to file an answer to the articles of impeachment,Judge Kent signed a letter of resignation
The impeachment proceedings in the Senate had only begun yesterday.
