Huckabee starts Twitter petition
Former Arkansas governor and 2008 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee (R) has begun an online petition for tax reform.
He tweeted:
petition @BarackObama The Fair Tax=jobs and growth not Big Govt, higher taxes http://act.ly/2x retweet to sign
Twenty minutes later, Huckabee tweeted again:
65 RTs and counting…RT @govmikehuckabee petition @BarackObama The Fair Tax=jobs and growth not Big Govt, higher taxes http://act.ly/2x
During last year’s election, Huckabee centered his economic agenda around the “fair tax.” The proposal would abolish most of the current federal tax code and replace it with a consumption tax that would correspond with how much each taxpayer spent.
As the petition indicates, Huckabee continues to push for the idea, this time appealing to his 24,000 followers on Twitter.
