44-year-old freshman Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.) is prepping for the congressional baseball game the best way he knows how: By taking batting practice at Nationals Stadium here in D.C.
Paulsen tweeted Wednesday:
Just finished up with batting practice at Nat’s stadium! Looking forward to the Congressional baseball game tonight!
We’ll keep an eye on how the rookie Paulsen does tonight, but he’d do well to try to imitate Minnesota Twins slugger Joe Mauer, who’s been delighting his fantasy baseball owners by hitting an eye-popping .427 batting average so far this season.
