Nelson doesn’t want Twitter to ‘distract’ him

Correct me if I am wrong, but MSNBC’s Savannah Guthrie seemed dubious about how and when Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) does his tweeting:

GUTHRIE: I want to move on to a subject near and dear to you. I know you wouldn’t Tweet your own horn, but you were named one of the top 50 political insiders that use Twitter. First of all, do you really type all of those messages yourself?

NELSON: I do some of them, and some of them — since I don’t do them from my BlackBerry, because I don’t want to be in the middle of a meeting distracted.

GUTHRIE: Right.

Nelson also said that he doesn’t tweet that often, to the chagrin of us here at Twitter Room. Senator, the more distracted you are, the merrier!
