The White House’s decision to move today’s press conference from the spacious Rose Garden to the cramped James R. Brady Briefing Room has the press corps atwitter.
RealClearPolitics’ Mike Memoli tweeted about impending mayhem in the briefing room:
So far, anyone sitting in a seat does not actually represent the news org assigned to it. Will be fun to watch the bootings
POTUS’ teleprompter set up. First time I’ve seen that in the briefing room
They took the prompter away. It really looked awful in the small room
Only one more hour of standing, followed by an hour press conf. If you hear about someone passing out, it’ll probably be me
But at least one veteran member of the White House press expressed his thanks for the change in location. CBS News’ Mark Knoller tweeted:
Obama did an outdoor news conferenc in Trinidad back in April. It really got uncomfortable. We were all wilted afterward.
Twitter Room and other news outlets previously reported the move from the Rose Garden to the briefing room.
