This afternoon, we received a fairly mundane tweet from Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) but it reminded us of something greater.
The tweet said:
just left health care bill markup, now speaking on Senate Floor. Will be on MSNBC at 6:30 tonight talking health care reform. — staff
The “– staff” signature is telling. Three weeks ago, Twitter Room reported that Sen. Brown had joined Twitter “sort of.” Mike O’Brien wrote:
To Brown’s office’s credit’ the staff has denoted which tweets they’ve written (unlike several other offices, who tend to ghost-tweet). Still, the senator’s page gives no indication as to when he will — if at all — start tweeting for himself.
The senator’s Twitter feed shows that he has still not made a tweet of his own. That’s 21 days and counting!
