Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez gave President Obama a copy of a famous left-leaning history of Latin American when the two met last night.
ABC’s Jake Tapper tweeted Saturday morning that Chavez gave Obama a copy of “Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent” by Uruguayan historian Eduardo Galeano.
The meeting between the two has been subject of great attention, though the White House has signaled that the two will not engage in direct, bilateral talks.
