Rep. Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.) is inspired by redneck women, the Republican candidate for governor tweeted Wednesday.
Wamp had met with country singer Gretchen Wilson, the singer of the song “Redneck Woman,” after which Wamp tweeted the following:
Gretchen Wilson is an inspiration ! She got her GED as an adult and now advocates for Adult Education and the importance of literacy.
This isn’t Wilson’s first association with a Republican, however. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) raised eyebrows when she danced along to “Redneck Woman” while campaigning for the vice presidency.
Wilson completed her GED in 2007 at the age of 33.
