Former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio (R) openly voiced his disappointment with the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s (NRSC) decision Tuesday to quickly back Florida Gov. Charlie Crist’s (R) Senate bid.
Rubio, the other Senate candidate in the race — who is viewed as more conservative than the popular centrist, Crist — took to Twitter to call out NRSC Chairman John Cornyn’s decision to endorse Crist.
Disappointed GOP senate comm endorses Crist on day 1. Remember that reform must always come from the outside.Status quo won’t change itself.
Crist and Rubio will now duke it out in a Republican primary to see who’ll win the nomination to try to replace Sen. Mel Martinez (R) in the Senate.
Crist also launched a campaign Twitter today, but we’ll see if @JohnCornyn has anything to say in response to Rubio.
