McCaskill faces tough questions from Tapper on Twitter

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) took a tough question on Saturday, not at a press conference, but over Twitter.

ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper asked McCaskill what her reaction was the the president’s firing of an inspector general who had been investigating AmericCorps, and other public service programs.

Tapper tweeted:

hey @clairecmc as someone who strongly supports Inspectors General, whats your take on POTUS firing AmericCorps IG Walpin?

To which McCaskill responded:

@jaketapper Looking into it. Expect a briefing Monday. Want to get all the facts before I weigh in.

Tapper took the politically timid answer rather well, tweeting:

@clairecmc You want to get all the facts before u weigh in?!?!? What kind of a public servant are you??? 😉
