Obama’s tan suit shocks social media

Journalists were shocked by President Obama’s decision to wear a tan suit Thursday as he delivered a statement from the White House on the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and Russia’s intervention in Ukraine.

Reaction to his tan suit was mixed on Twitter, with some joking it wasn’t an appropriate color to wear for the occasion.

It’s not the first time he has worn tan; Obama wore the color back in April for Easter services.

Some reporters posted punny tweets.

One reporter said he didn’t think the suit fit Obama well.

The reporter also joked that the first president wore a tan suit, too.

Some loved it.

Others said it was a fashion no-no.

Another journalist predicted that Obama’s suit would get more attention than his remarks.

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the longest-serving member in the House and a prolific tweeter, said he had no problem with Obama’s style.
