Sen. Brown, Warren exchange birthday greeting

Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren urged her followers to join her in wishing Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) “a very happy birthday.” The freshman senator turned 53.

Brown tweeted a “thank you” in response.

The Massachusetts Senate race is one of the more fierce races this cycle, and many consider the state a key to the Senate majority. But this is not the first time they have set aside the politics to exchange pleasantries on Twitter. It turns out they share the same wedding anniversary, July 12. Earlier this summer, they wished each other a happy shared anniversary and even exchanged gifts.

Brown and Warren will face off in the first of four televised debates on Sept. 20.
