Parody account teases Scott Brown for Boxer’s seat
With Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) retiring in 2016, there’s one name on nobody’s list as a potential replacement: former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown (R).
{mosads}But if you believe @ScottBrownCA, there’s a chance that the former lawmaker and recent New Hampshire senatorial candidate could make another run for Congress in the Golden State.
The new parody account sent its first tweet Thursday morning, just after Boxer’s announcement. The impending vacancy could encourage popular California politicians to seek her seat, including Democrats Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Kamala Harris.
Just got back from the gym, shredded on my new guitar, now just reading about @SenatorBoxer‘s retirement. Interesting.

The real Brown won a special election to replace Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) after his death in 2010. Brown served out the remainder of the term but lost to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) in 2012. Out of a job, he moved to New Hampshire, where his family had roots, and lost a bid for Senate in 2014.
Many political junkies poked fun at Brown’s decision to run for Congress in a new state; Bloomberg even wrote a tongue-in-cheek post about where he’d run next hours after he lost on Election Day.
The Twitter parody strikes a similar tone about the former senator. Echoing Brown’s defense of his New Hampshire ties, the account’s bio says “Proud to have long and strong ties to the Golden State.” It has also been posting some candid shots of Brown that the “candidate” hopes to resonate with Californian voters.
I still think Massachusetts is harder to spell than California. But New Hampshire is two words, so there’s that.

My friend wants me to ask if anyone knows a good mechanic in California. My friend is wicked into his truck and thinking about moving there.
