Asking Senators to Tell Us Where They Get Campaign Money

Well, there’s this Senate bill, the Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act, which pretty much means that senators need to tell us where their campaign money comes from, and they need to do it online.

The idea is that it’s easier to dig up unsavory connections this way.

However, one senator prevents this kind of accountability and transparency from happening. As the Sunlight Foundation folks say:

Unfortunately, one senator, Sen. [Pat] Roberts [R-Kan.], is setting this bill up to fail by tacking on an unnecessary and controversial amendment that would actually decrease transparency and accountability in the Senate.

I really don’t know why the guy’s standing in the way of American grassroots democracy, but I’d like you to help, and here’s how to do that.
