Britney Spears is sharing an invitation she received to testify before Congress about conservatorships and how she “achieved justice.”

The “Toxic” singer posted a December letter on her Instagram account on Wednesday from Democratic Reps. Eric Swalwell (Calif.) and Charlie Crist (Fla.).

The invitation congratulates Spears and her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, on their “historic victories” after a Los Angeles court ended Spears’s controversial 13-year conservatorship in November. The legal arrangement, headed by her father, Jamie Spears, had been blasted as “abusive” by the pop star.

“Your journey towards justice will inspire and empower many others who are improperly silenced by the conservatorship process,” Crist and Swalwell said.

The two lawmakers said that they were “troubled” by several issues surrounding the conservatorship, including its permanence and Spears “being forced to engage in employment against [her] will.”

“To that end, we wanted to personally invite you and your counsel to met with us in Congress at a mutually convenient time to describe in your own words how you achieved justice,” the letter said.

Spears, 40, told her nearly 40 million Instagram followers that she was “flattered” by the note. As a result of receiving it, she wrote, she “felt heard and like I mattered for the first time in my life!!!”

“In a world where your own family goes against you, it’s actually hard to find people that get it and show empathy!!!!” the performer said.

Crist, who is running for Florida governor in November’s midterm elections, responded to Spears’s social media post on Wednesday, saying it was his “honor” to invite her to Capitol Hill.

“Your voice helps other victims feel so much #stronger,” he wrote, the hashtag a nod to the singer’s 2000 hit of the same name.

The Grammy Award winner didn’t indicate whether she would accept the invitation, but expressed a desire to “help others in vulnerable situations, take life by the balls and be brave!!!”
