‘Harry Potter’ actress posts photo of her 3-month-old baby in hospital with COVID-19

“Harry Potter” actress Jessie Cave posted a photo Tuesday of her 3-month-old son in the hospital, saying he tested positive for COVID-19.

Cave, 33, who played Lavender Brown in the final three movies of the franchise, posted a picture on Instagram showing the infant in a hospital room behind a laptop showing Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcement of the U.K.’s recent lockdown.

“I watched the news about lockdown from an isolated room in hospital. Poor baby is covid positive,” she wrote in the caption.

“He’s okay and doing well but they are being vigilant and cautious, thankfully. This strain is super powerful and contagious so I do hope that people take extra care in the coming weeks,” Cave continued. 

The actress’s third baby was born in October and placed in the neonatal unit after his birth. Cave noted in her Tuesday post that she “really didn’t want to be back in a hospital so soon after his traumatic birth.”

Johnson declared that England would enter its second COVID-19 lockdown on Monday as the U.K. struggles to contain a new strain of the virus that seems to be more contagious. 

The new variant of COVID-19 was first discovered in the U.K. and has prompted several countries to ban travel from the country. Colorado, California, Florida, New York and Georgia have all identified cases of the new strain.
