Political world mourns loss of comedian Jerry Stiller

Politicians and at least one country are mourning the loss of comedian Jerry Stiller after his son, actor Ben Stiller, announced his death on Monday.

Stiller, best known for his role on the sitcom “Seinfeld,” where his character introduced the “Festivus” holiday, died at the age of 92. Fans paying him tribute on Twitter span the political world, ranging from former Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) to the country of Israel.

“I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes,” Ben Stiller tweeted. “He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”

Others marking Stiller’s death on Monday include a member of the anti-President Trump Lincoln Group and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.).
