Lawmakers toast Greta Van Susteren’s new show

SPOTTED: Not a Democratic presidential debate, nor a pivotal Washington Nationals playoff game, could keep lawmakers from toasting the launch of Greta Van Susteren’s new show, “Full Court Press.”

Among those eyed at the Tuesday evening event, which also marked the fifth anniversary of Gray Television’s Washington bureau in downtown D.C.: House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Sens. John Thune (R-S.D.), Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) Rick Scott (R-Fla.), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), along with Reps. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.), Danny Davis (D-Ill.), Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.), Donna Shalala (D-Fla.), Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.), Billy Long (R-Mo.), Garret Graves (R-La.), Jim Hagedorn (R-Minn.) and Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.).

Also in the crowd: Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D), Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai, Tammy Haddad, former Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) and Gray Television CEO Hilton Howell.

Roberta McCain, the 107-year-old mother of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), was also at the soiree to support Van Susteren’s syndicated political program. Susteren has said that she and McCain share a weekly coffee date on Sundays.
