R. Kelly in custody over child support
R. Kelly is in policy custody over charges of unpaid child support.
The “Ignition” singer allegedly owed more than $190,000 in unpaid child support when he appeared Wednesday before a judge in Cook County, Ill.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to ITK that the 52-year-old performer was taken into custody, accused of contempt of court.

Kelly is next scheduled to appear in court for the child support case on March 13.
The entertainer — who’s been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women — was poised to return to jail on the same day that an explosive interview with “CBS This Morning’s” Gayle King aired.
During the at-times combative sit-down, an emotional Kelly proclaimed his innocence, saying, “I’m fighting for my f—ing life!”
The musical artist mentioned his children during the interview, telling King, “You killing me, man. This is not about music. I’m trying to have a relationship with my kids. And I can’t do it.”
Kelly pleaded not guilty last month to 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse. Three of the women involved were under the age of 17 at the time of the alleged incidents, which prosecutors say span from 1998 to 2010.
