Whoopi on ‘The View’: Trump ‘has enough accusers to know why’ women didn’t come forward

“The View” host Whoopi Goldberg on Friday blasted President Trump after he questioned why Christine Blasey Ford, the college professor accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, had not reported it to authorities.

In remarks on the show Friday morning, Goldberg noted that the number of women who have accused the president himself of similar groping or unwanted sexual conduct are evidence of why women are reluctant to come forward with reports of sexual abuse.

“He has enough accusers to know why people didn’t come forward,” Goldberg said, after reading Trump’s tweets on-air. “He’s heard it enough. We’ve heard this enough.”

“Women don’t want to come forward because of exactly what’s happening” to Ford, Goldberg continues.

The comments from Goldberg, who is a frequent critic of the president, came after the president tweeted that if the sexual assault alleged by Ford was “as bad as she says,” then “charges would have been immediately filed.”

“I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!” Trump wrote.

Trump also questioned why the FBI had not been informed when the alleged sexual assault took place in the 1980s when both Kavanaugh and Ford were in high school.

“The radical left lawyers want the FBI to get involved NOW. Why didn’t someone call the FBI 36 years ago?” he wrote in a separate tweet.

Kavanaugh has denied the allegations, which were brought to light Sunday in a Washington Post interview with Ford in which she claimed the Supreme Court nominee forcibly held her down and muffled her screams for help while trying to remove her clothes.

The White House has stood by the president’s nominee in recent days following the allegation, while the Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a hearing Monday to address the accusation and hear testimony from Kavanaugh.

Ford has offered to testify in front of the panel next week though has ruled out appearing on Monday.
