DC restaurant offering special drinks when indictments are handed down in Mueller probe

A Washington, D.C., restaurant is offering $5 “Moscow Mueller” drinks when indictments are handed down in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

The Bird, a restaurant located in Washington’s Shaw neighborhood, made the announcement Wednesday, two days after former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his business associate, Richard Gates, were indicted.

{mosads}“The grand jury may still be out, but when @bobsmueller indicts a Trump associate, we’ll be serving up $5 Moscow Muellers #muellertime,” the restaurant posted on its Twitter account.

The drink’s name is a play on the name of the popular Moscow Mule cocktail, a drink made with vodka, spiced ginger beer and lime juice served in a copper mug.

Manafort surrendered to the FBI on Monday. He was charged with 12 counts, including conspiracy against the United States and money laundering, related to his work for a pro-Russia political party in Ukraine.

The Bird has previously offered discounted drinks whenever Trump fires someone from the White House, making the offer after the departures of former chief strategist Stephen Bannon and former communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

The restaurant offered a special cocktail called “the Mooch” following Scaramucci’s firing and shortly after decided to offer discounted drinks “anytime Trump fires a White House official,” according to its Twitter profile.
